Over the past month and a half, the Lord has really convicted the students here and myself to get more involved with the crisis at the border. The massive influxes of immigrants are coming from many different situations, but most of them are fleeing persecution from their home country and seeking safety. Every week for the past month, a group of about 10-15 of us from UTEP BSM are going over to spend time at the churches that have been willing to open their doors and provide for their needs. We do all sorts of things from playing with kids, cooking and serving food, and just getting to know these individuals that have made this long tough journey. Most of all, we have the opportunity to meet their spiritual needs by having Gospel conversations and praying over them. We have seen many come to faith in Jesus through these conversations. Please pray for more churches to open up their doors to house these families. The need is tremendous, but the Lord is working in the midst of all of this for His glory.

  • Pray for more local churches to be ready and willing to open their doors to these immigrants in need of shelter.
  • Pray for the churches across our state as we work to minister to this growing population that is so desperately in need of the basic necessities of life: Food, water and shelter.
  • Pray that those who have heard the saving news of Jesus Christ through these BSM students would having willing hearts to accept God's calling on their life.

Pausing and Praying with you,
